DIY Burlap Christmas Banners

I added DIY Burlap Christmas banners to my holiday decor this year and it was seriously money well spent. First off Burlap is $3.99 a yard and that’s before my 40% Hobby Lobby discount (seriously download the free app people! It will change your life lol). I used it in the mantle, on the tree skirt, and now these cute JOY and NOEL banners!
DIY Burlap Christmas Banners - Learn how to make beautiful holiday decor using burlap. So easy and quick projects you can make yourself!
The JOY Banner is so simple to make just it has a big impact in the room. I just cut two 12 by 12 squares and cut out letters (J and Y) with some copper ribbon. I glued the letters to the burlap with some spray adhesive and they were done. For the O, I just stuck a small wreath between them! I used the same copper ribbon to add a bow to the wreath as well and that brought everything together.
Without the copper bow:

At first i just left the wreath plain, then realized some ribbon would tie it all together.

Next, the Noel Banner:
I cut some burlap triangles. Mine were 10″ wide by 12″ long. I essentially just cut a large rectangle and then cut triangles out of the rectangle.

Then I cut my ribbon strips to make my letters.

I pinned down the letters piece by piece until I got them looking the way I wanted. I lifted each strip, sprayed some spray adhesive and glued it down piece by piece, just like with the JOY banner.

Next I used some craft lace and pushed through the holes in the burlap.

Assembly line…

And hung it with some push pins behind the mirror. This goes perfectly with my mantle!

So there you have some inexpensive burlap and ribbon can transform a room! I hope you will try these projects, if you do go I would love to hear from you!1) How to make Holiday Garland with Deco Mesh2) How to Decorate a Christmas Tree
