DIY Fabric Softener (Spring Cleaning Series 4)

So we are at part 4 in our Spring Cleaning series and I wanted to share a recipe with you. You guys really liked my DIY laundry detergent, so how about some DIY fabric softener to add to it.

DIY Fabric Softener - Make your own fabric conditioner with some usual items in your home. Also check out the DIY laundry detergent tutorial!

The beauty of homemade cleaners and in this case, softeners, is that there are few ingredients and they are very economical. This DIY fabric softener recipe has just three ingredients:

6 cups of water
3 cups of white vinegar
2 cups hair conditioner (whatever scent suits your fancy, I use a cheap suave conditioner)

Yes, you did just read HAIR conditioner. I know it sounds crazy but just think about it, conditioner softens your hair and it most definitely softens your clothes. What’s great is that you get to choose the scent you like in your fabric softener by choosing whatever scent of conditioner you like. I went for some cheap suave conditioner in refreshing waterfall rain. I’m going to look for something in my beloved lavender next time.

I hope you try this recipe and let me know what scents you chose!
