My very good friend and college roommate Allison is getting married in Jamaica! I helped to host her DIY bridal shower at my home and it turned out really well. Allison picked purple and silver as her wedding colors and we stuck with that color scheme for the bridal shower.

We hand made most of the decor. We made the purple and silver fans as a backdrop to the food table using gift wrap paper and card stock. We made tissue paper flowers and signage for the foods and drinks. I used small silver frames and used purple card stock inside and wrote the names of the foods in silver pen.
I made the rosette cake and decorated it with silver and purple bling ribbon. If you would like to make your own cake or see how easy it is to make this rosette cake, check out the video tutorial here. The cupcakes were from Crave Cupcakes in Houston.
We used the signage ‘Eat, Drink and Be Married’ by the drink station. We had fruit punch and of course some rum punch for a tropical feel!
Again we made signage for the favor table ‘Love is Sweet, Please take a Treat’. The favors were the most delicious pecan almond wedding cookies. We accented the table with tissue paper stuffed in apothecary jars.
We used tissue paper flowers in vases around the room to add color. You can learn how to make them here
Another element that was a huge hit at the DIY bridal shower was the photo booth. I made the backdrop out of plastic table clothes. See the tutorial here.
Instead of buying props, I decided to just use what I had an old frame and I made some signs with funny sayings on card stock. Turned out great!
The best part of the shower is that my friend Allison enjoyed it thoroughly and everyone was able to shower her with the love she deserves.
