How to Personalize and Organize New Puppy Supplies

how to organize new puppy supplies
We just got a new puppy for our twincesses! His name is JoJo and he is the cutest little Blue Heeler. Life with a new puppy is hard work but so fun! The girls are loving having a little brother. When you get a puppy there are lots of things you have to get and the puppy supplies can take over your home if you aren’t careful. The bulk of JoJo’s stuff revolves around food so I decided to give JoJo his own corner in the breakfast room where we can keep all his puppy supplies organized. We also eat most meals in the breakfast room, and it seems JoJo loves to eat with us during mealtime. So here is how I step up, organized and personalized our new puppy supplies. I was also sure to personalize his corner to make it his own.

Step One: Place all your dog supplies into categories

We ended up with four categories: food, snacks, playtime and cleanup. JoJo also had one other category which was health but we store his health related products somewhere else where the kids can’t access it. This includes his vitamins, flea and tick treatment, shampoo and conditioner, grooming supplies and first aid kit.

The category that took us the most time to figure out was food because mealtime is just as important for our pets as it is for us. We tested a few types of dog food, but JoJo seems to really enjoy CESAR® dog food. Which works well for me because CESAR® lets you feed your dog like family, while keeping them healthy at the same time. What I love most is that they have both a wet and dry food line, they just launched their dry food at Walmart which means lots of yummy flavors for JoJo to try. JoJo loves having the wet and dry options for food especially because the first ingredient in them all is meat. And let me tell you JoJo is eating good! Right now we switch every other meal as either wet or dry food but I can also envision him using the wet food as a snack as he gets older.
For his dry food he loves the CESAR® Dry Filet Mignon with spring vegetables. For the wet food I like to buy the CESAR® Pate Mixed Variety Pack, it has 24 packs with 4 different flavors Beef in Meaty Juices, Filet Mignon Flavor in Sauce, Porterhouse Steak Flavor in Meaty Juices, and Grilled Chicken Flavor in Sauce. I’m telling you JoJo is eating better than us right now!

Step 2: Get the right containers

Ok so now that we have all our categories, step 2 is to purchase containers that will hold what you have. I found these gorgeous bins and basket and they were the perfect sizes for my four categories.

Now its time to personalize! Using my Cricut machine I added JoJo’s name and a label to the large bins. This not only looks cute, but taking care of JoJo is a part of my children’s chores, having labels makes sure everything goes back in its place.

With his favorite food  CESAR® dog food figured out, I felt like I needed to make his bowls fun! I added the words Sip and Slurp to his food and water bowls. Sip is for the water bowl and slurp is for his food because that is just what he sounds like when he eats!

I also found a really cute mat to place his bowls on, it has two paw prints where the bowls go. Works well for having the kids place the bowls in the same spot every time and also helps with mealtime so the bowls don’t slide around the floor while JoJo eats.

All in all, Mr JoJo can’t get enough of his new space! He feels special having his own corner and he knows just where to go for mealtime and playtime!
