This week I’m excited to participate in The Tour Through Blogland Series. This tour is a fun game of virtual tag, where when you are tagged, you answer four questions about yourself and your blog and give a kind of tour of your home or blog. It is a fun way to get to know your favorite bloggers and tour their homes and projects. I was actually tagged by two awesome bloggers, Emily from Our House Now A Home and Chelsea from Mommy and Wee. Thank you Ladies!

Ok so on to My Tour Through Blog Land.
My home is a mix of neutrals and pops of color. I hate clutter and feel that with decorating less is more, I like my home to feel airy and comfortable, but very organized and functional.
I love not only organizing but making unexpected places pretty like a fridge, a pantry or a laundry room. It’s the little things that make me happy, I hate doing laundry so might as well make the laundry room beautiful.
1) What am I working on?
Gosh what am I not working on right now. I am always working on some project around the house. It’s getting all these ideas I have in my brain actually finished around the house that I have a problem with! I’ve got a few projects in the works right now, like creating a privacy window at my front door using contact paper, converting my twincesses’ nursery to a toddler room and finishing up a guest bedroom, I painted that dresser blue today!
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I love beautiful things but I’m cheap and I always try to find a way to get the look for less. I also have two beautiful twincesses who are extremely active and keep me on my toes! Because of this I’m always looking for ways to streamline and organize my life and make it easier for my whole family. People who come to my home always seem to be surprised that I did this or that on my own, and I love sharing how they can do it too. It’s such a great feeling to create something on your own, or to transform something ordinary to something extraordinary. It’s kind of magical what you can do with some thought, creativity and elbow grease. Like sewing my own two story living room drapes, or little projects like a no sew window seat or a moss covered letter. I also love party planning and entertaining. I love DIYing every part of a party to personalize it, which includes baking and decorating pretty cakes! The beauty of my blog is that if I can do it so can you!
3) Why do I write/create what I do?
I blog about everything I love, parenting my twincesses, home decor and DIY. I first started blogging when my twincesses were born at only 25 weeks. I blogged as a way to keep my family in Barbados informed of what was going on with the girls, but then it became cathartic, it just felt good to write about my girls. Even if I die tomorrow, it’s like I have a virtual diary out there in the world that my daughters and my daughter’s daughters can look at and know what I loved, and who I was. They already love helping me cook or with projects, being able to document that on the blog brings me so much joy.
4) How does your writing/creating process work?
As a wife, mum and working fulltime outside of the home, I don’t have much time to spare. Whenever inspiration hits, I write myself a note about the project. My writing process happens mostly on the weekend and when the girls go to bed at night. I do most of my projects and take most of my pictures and videos on the weekend, and I do my editing and writing at night. I try to schedule my posts weeks in advance so that on the weeks when I don’t have the time to blog I don’t have to.
I also nominate Denise with Be My Guest with Denise. Not only do you want to check out her fabulous blog but her Youtube channel is down right inspiring. She has the most beautiful taste and a couponing stockpile that would put a grocery store to shame! I first got hooked after seeing her Home Office/Loft Space.
Happy Touring!
