DIY Hot Chocolate Bar and More

We had a get together or as we say in Barbados ‘a lime’ on New years Day. I absolutely love entertaining and nothing is better than starting the new year with friends and family. I think the best part of the party this year (besides the company) was the DIY hot chocolate bar. Every one really enjoyed it, especially me! even the kids got into it lol.

DIY Hot Chocolate Bar and More - Perfect for keeping your guest warm and entertained. It's so easy quick to make. And inexpensive too!
I got the thermos from Ross. And  I tell you those things were worth the $14.99 a piece! Lets just say the morning after the party I decided to test it out (yes i did not clean up the bar that night lol) and the hot chocolate was HOT! I don’t mean lukewarm I mean like still steaming hot!

For the hot chocolate bar we had both white and milk chocolate and guests would put whatever add ins they pleased. (Here’s the link to the recipe for White Hot Chocolate)

Addins were: baileys liquor, marshmallows, peppermint marshmallow, hershey’s kisses, pirouette wafers, crushed candy canes, whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

This was just perfect for a cold day.

By far the best combination was white hot chocolate with bailey liquor! yummy!

We also had a dessert bar. I guess you can see my infatuation with calling things ‘bars’ lol
My sister and I made this rosette white cake with peppermint frosting inside and buttercream outside. simply divine

Parfaits. i took the pics before the whipped cream on top.

cherry pie filling, biscoff crumbles, chocolate cake, almond slivers and fresh strawberries

My sister did the cookies and brownies with dollops of peppermint icing on top
And of course there was plenty of Bajan food. Rice and pies, macaroni pie, sweet potato pie, corn pie, ham, turkey, potato salad and sorrell to drink!

But most of all we had fun. Happy New Year from my home to yours 🙂
